EMRate Median Comparison - Western vs. Eastern Europe
Median = EMRate Average over time (%)
This section presents the median values [excess mortality] for 25 countries for the periods 2020–March 2022 (Period 1) and April 2022–2024 (Period 2). These show period-dependent differences in mortality within Western countries and within Eastern Europe [by country].
Western countries. (left)
Both periods still show very high median figures with few exceptions; however, as expected, the range has increased due to geographical differences, topography, population density, and economic factors, as well as to some extent the restrictions imposed by the “U.S. Security Agreement.”
Eastern European countries. (right)
Between the periods, the restrictions related to the “U.S. Security Agreement” and the expansion of mobile infrastructure have affected mortality rates. Eastern countries, which were more dependent on undesirable Chinese products in their mobile networks, had comparatively much lower mortality rates during Period 2. It is also interesting to note that after the blockade, mortality figures became more uniform—with smaller differences between countries—as the 4G+/5G expansion came to a halt.
A similar trend to that seen in Western countries would have been expected in Eastern Europe as well if the 4G/5G rollout had continued at the same pace—that is, if the 4G+/5G expansion had continued beyond the major cities.
